Show Notes
Part three of the second episode of our podcast is here.
phew! That’s three hours of audio content
SquidgyFidget starts a conversation about the Switch not having a gamer score which leads us to a discussion on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. Then B drops a knowledge bomb about Nintendo bringing a online play to the Switch very soon.
I talk about the difficulty of being the first with some new technology, the death of the Saturn and Dreamcast; and B brings to our attention the fact that the consoles which win the wars are the ones which concede on certain aspects of their design and hardware for the mainstream, which takes us to a discussion on SegaNet.
I also link what happened in the video games crash of the 80s to what happened recently with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and how Nintendo fixed gaming back then by adding (what was effectively) a DRM chip to each cartridge for the NES.
